week 1

When i am dancing i jump, stand still and move from side to side.

Test Questions:

1. Draw a free body diagram of a parachutist who has just stepped out of the airplane, and is accelerating toward the ground.

A:
Free body diagram showing drag (friction from the air) and weight.                      Fg > Ff

2. I am moving but don't want to stop what Newton's law am I?

A: I am Newton's Law of inertia (Law 1), it states objects stay at rest stay at rest unless acted on by an external force.

3. If forces are in opposite directions how do you find the direction of the force? What about in the opposite direction?

A: If forces are going in the same direction you add the forces together and if the forces are opposite directions you subtract the forces.

Week 2

  •          When I rides like the gravity rides i feel very heavy because it is exerting positive G's on you which pin's you down to the wall. Yes an object can be weightless when it is in free fall because you are always falling to the strongest gravitational force. An object is weightless when no gravity is acting upon the object.

Test Questions:

1. NLUG

Conceptual:   What does Newton's Law prove to use about any 2 objects?

A: NLUG says that any 2 objects have a gravitational force.

 2. NLUG
 Calculation:
Determine the force of gravitational attraction between the earth (m = 5.98 x 1024 kg) and a 70-kg physics student if the student is standing at sea level, a distance of 6.38 x 106 m from earth's center?

week 7

I think the hardest thing for me to do in physics is the calculations. It is hardest because when i read the questions i sometimes do not read everything correctly and then some of my data is incorrect. If i start reading it more thoroughly  i will fix this mistake. I also think it would help by using the GUESS method ALL the time and just not some of the time it would make things less confusing and more organized. Independently i can do the reviews and see what i am messing up on repeatedly and fix my mistakes. When working in groups i could have everyone do a problem and then we could compare answers ensuring that everyone understands how to work out the problems. In class with my teacher i could ask for help when i do not understand and i could also pay more attention and spend less time staring off in to space and doing other things while he is teaching.

Test Questions:

1. An airplane accelerates down a runway at 3.20 m/s2 for 32.8 s until is finally lifts off the ground. Determine the distance traveled before takeoff.

A: d= 1720m

2.  You are looking up at the top of a tree that is 10 m apart from you. If the tree is 15 m taller than you, at what angle are you looking upward?

 A:    56.3 degrees

3. What is the final velocity of a car that accelerated 10 m/s2 from rest and traveled 180m?

A: 60m/s

The paragraph i just wrote is about my problems and how i am going to fix them.
