An activity i do that converts into energy is eating! When I eat food my body can produce mechanical energy for when i need to use my muscles. Food is converted into carbohydrates, or glucose, it flows throughout the bloodstream, cells absorb the food and then it is used to fuel the body.
TEST QUESTIONS: ENERGY
1. What is the speed of an object if it has the mass of 3.46 kg and a kinetic energy of 274.9 J?
Uk = (1/2)mv^2
A: 12.61 m/s
2. A 30 kg child climbs 15 meters up a tree. When he stops to have a look around, what is the
child’s potential energy?
A: 4410 J
3. What are 3 different types of energy?
A:
Potential Energy
Kinetic Energy
Gravitational Energy
Spring Energy

Week 3- going green :)
I really do not know much about these topics but I do know a little bit.
I have heard the term "going green" referring to people trying to use resources like water and electricity and keeping in mind the environment when they use them.
I know that the United States uses the most oil out of anyone because we use it for many different things such as cars, other ways of transportation and also machinery.
Coal is used to power things like heaters and is used to make iron and steel.
I really don't know much about nuclear power other then it is a source of electricity.
Hydrogen fuel converts water into energy and is used to power hydrogen cell cars.
Energy efficiency is using less energy to provide the same level of energy like using solar panels for electricity or putting in house insulation to keep your house warmer with out having to turn on heaters.
Test Questions:
1. How much work is done by a force of 6.32 N that operates over a displacement of 3.65 m?
A: 23.07J
2. What are renewable and nonrenewable resources?
A: Renewable energy is energy generated from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, and geothermal heat, which are renewable (naturally replenished).
Nonrenewable resource is an energy source that is replenished very slow or is not replenished at all by a natural process.
3. An elevator must lift 1000 kg a distance of 100 m at a velocity of 4 m/s. What is the average power the elevator exerts during this trip?
A: 3.9×104 Watts or 39 kW.
